Confused

Taken in by the mimicry of void,
She left him thinking.

Into the bright light,
As he stares, blinking.

Trying to figure out this puzzle,
His mind races.

Here and there skipping beats,
Meanwhile his heart paces.

Trying to piece together,
What he has been left with.

Thinking about the loss,
His soul starts to writhe.

His body's now,
Numb with pain.

Nothing left to lose,
Everything's now to gain.

He always tends,
To put her in a spot.

Everytime he does,
In his chest he feels a knot.

But his pain,
Is nothing compared to hers.

And at this thought,
His insides stir.

He still holds on,
As if for dear life.

Not letting her go,
His feelings rife.

He wishes not to affect her,
In the negative way he partly does.

He wishes not to cause discomfort,
To the one he loves.

Apparently it seems,
One cannot be done without the other.

He tries to solve one problem,
Somehow gives rise to another.

Much farther than reality,
His dreams have begun to soar.

Ironic so much,
That his conscience now roars.

Telling him he's being selfish,
by keeping her in pain.

Making her lose,
To accentuate his gain.

He wants to find a way,
to make it all fit.

Without either having,
To take the hit.

He'll wonder on,
Forever more.

Till he folds to,
the eternal snore.

He finds it insignificant,
The supposed wear and tear.

And survives by the principle,
That life isn't fair.
